Crystal Cruises Gets a Makeover
Crystal Cruises gets an extreme makeover, making them an even better luxury all-inclusive cruise line.
Onboard the most contemporary ships at sea, everything is designed to pique the passions of the well traveled Crystal guest. In recent years, they have invested more than $100 million in the sleek redesign of both ships, keeping them on the cutting edge of style and technology with rich woods and marbles, custom fabrics and trendy furnishings, Bose stereos, iMac computers, flat screen televisions with Blu-ray and more. Crystal Symphony's new feel is refined yet modern, inspired by classic tony icons such as New York's 12 Club, Hollywood's Coconut Grove and Palm Beach's country club atmosphere.
The Palm Court, Crystal Symphony's recent redesign marks the culmination of a $65 million, five year plan to restyle every room on board. The new Palm Court recalls the glamour filled Coconut Grove of Hollywood's yesteryear with an ultra contemporary flair.
Reminiscent of the Gilded Age's tennis and card clubs, Crystal Symphony's new Bridge Lounge boasts ambient sconces, floor to ceiling drapes, Roman sheers, and a 12k gold, champagne leaf dome ceiling, as well as state of the art audio and visual tools.
The Hollywood Theater has been completely redone with a look inspired by classic, Art Deco movie palaces. Crystal Symphony's theater features custom woven acoustic wall paneling and velvet curtains. New Bose and Meyer audio systems and Barco projectors enhance the experience.
Crystal Symphony's "teens only hang out" Waves features new Casalina chairs and Marimekko patterned Fatboy bean bags, and Fantasia has been redesigned for younger kids. All will be able to enjoy Wii, Playstation, Xbox, Kinect, widescreen televisions, and supervised, age specific activities.
Key among Crystal Symphony's recent $15 million redesign is the newly styled Avenue Saloon, one of the ship's most popular venues. The piano bar retains its 19th century gentlemen's club feel with rich mahogany woods, buttery leathers and luxe velvets.
In the Galaxy Lounge, Crystal lighting fixtures, black Nero Marquina marble flooring, and custom starburst designed carpet frame a newly expanded stage. Entertainment is elevated with hi - def Barco projectors and a Meyer audio speaker system.
Crystal Serenity's multimillion dollar makeover in May, 2011 brings modern classic elegance to many popular areas, combining the verve and vitality of Broadway, the panache and sophistication of Fifth Avenue, and the savoir faire and refinement of Europe. All 535 staterooms, retail centers, outdoor pool deck, corridors and other spaces received a dazzling facelift, in addition to general sprucing of the entire outside and inside of the vessel.
